Structure:

  • 12 month program
  • Program intakes in spring and fall
  • Bi-monthly calls over 10 months
  • Monthly assessments
  • 2 three day retreats

Time Commitment:

  • 6-8 hours per week

Students will explore, understand, describe and recall:

1. How Silent Infections & Dysbiosis Impact Health (2 months):

  • Definitions: dysbiosis, silent infections, inflammation, microbiota, microbiome.
  • The Human Microbiome Project.
  • Dynamic interactions between human microbes and the environment (infant to adult).
  • Intrapersonal microbial diversity.
  • The gut microbiome’s role in digestion, nutrition, hormonal regulation, immune function, chelation of heavy metals & toxins, and as our natural defense, etc.
  • The gut microbiome and epigenetics.
  • The brain-gut connection: how microbiota affects the brain.
  • Mechanisms of inflammation in disease processes.
  • How silent infections cause inflammation and immune dysfunction.
  • The repercussions of using anti-inflammatory medications to treat inflammation in disease.
  • The consequences of the overuse of antibiotics.
  • Personal and parental health history assessment forms.
  • Common symptoms of fungal overgrowth, SIBO, Lyme Disease, and other common silent infectious agents.
  • Common toxins produced by fungi.
  • The issue of gluten.
  • Symptoms of silent infections and dysbiosis.
  • Common consequences and treatments: hormones, adrenal fatigue, hypothyroid, B12 deficiency, anemia, constipation, insomnia, migraines, co-infections and mitochondrial dysfunction.
  • Disturbances in microbiota causing weight gain and obesity.
  • Biofilms – what they are and how to treat them.
  • A review of current research linking chronic silent infections to all chronic disease – heart disease, autoimmune disease and cancer.

2. Game Plan (one month):

  • Recommended Tests – bloodwork, urine, saliva, parasite and fungal overgrowth tests.
  • Therapies – When to use a gentle approach vs a more aggressive approach.
  • Herbal therapies – pros, cons and protocols.
  • Pharmaceutical therapies – pros, cons and protocols.
  • Probiotic supplements vs fermented foods.
  • How to avoid resistance.
  • Equipping your client to work with a health care professional – teaching them how to clearly communicate their desired outcomes to their health care professional.

3. Nutrition (one month):

  • The state of our food.
  • Meal replacements.
  • Breakfast smoothies.
  • Juicing.
  • The eating plan – guidelines.
  • Support structure/function and immune function while reducing inflammation.
  • Where to start – How to determine what’s best for your client.
  • Overcoming cravings.
  • Meal planning, money and time saving tips.
  • Main dish ideas.
  • How to shop and shopping list.
  • Vegetarian challenges in treating fungal overgrowth.

4. Supplements (one month):

  • Categories and requirements for nutrients – vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, essential fatty acids, phytosterols, phytochemicals.
  • Types of dietary supplements– synthetic, super foods, plant sourced.
  • Research pertaining to synthetic supplements.
  • Practice reading labels.
  • Glycobiology – immune modulation and communication.
  • Popular weight loss supplements.

5. Minimize Toxin Load (one month):

  • Personal chemical factory – quick review of toxins produced by various microbes.
  • Heavy metals.
  • Vaccines.
  • GMO.
  • EMF/RF radiation.
  • Black mold.
  • Antibiotics.
  • Water – xenoestrogens, fluoride and water filtration systems.
  • Personal care products.
  • Cleaning products.

6. Goals (one month):

  • SMART Goals.
  • Current reality.
  • Templates for 30, 60, 90 days and 6 month goals.
  • Triggers.

7. Healthy Lifestyle (one month):

  • Research on sunshine and vitamin D.
  • Benefits of activity and how to motivate your client to be active.
  • Nurturing your soul – tithing.
  • Stress management.
  • Sleep.
  • High performance brain.
  • Women’s health issues.

8. Health Coaching (2.5 months):

  • What is a health coach?
  • Health coaching opportunities.
  • Mapping out the road to recovery for your client – giving them realistic expectations.
  • Limiting beliefs – what are they and how they keep us stuck.
  • Uncover limiting beliefs – wellness wheel, exploratory activity – costs and benefits.
  • Building a strong “intention” and “why.” Triggers and accountability.
  • Phases of progression – excited, disillusioned, frustrated, blaming, buckle down, see significant improvements, feel confident to continue on their own.
  • Lead by example – they are watching you.
  • Why would someone work with you?
  • Template for collecting testimonials.
  • Template for health coaching contract.
  • Marketing – dos and don’ts.
  • The benefits of one-on-one “get unstuck” calls – taking it to a deeper level.

9. Your Coaching Business (2.5 months):

  • Special Interest Groups – fitness, baby boomers, preconception care & moms, young families, chronic illness.
  • Your ideal client.
  • Your offer – how to clearly communicate the transformation you provide.
  • Your signature talk – change your audience, not your talk.
  • Your unique branded system.
  • Leverage progression plan.
  • Strategy session application form template, strategy session script and how to record a strategy session.
  • Template and procedure on how to conduct one-on-one coaching sessions.
  • How to teach groups of clients – platforms, structure.
  • Time management.
  • Autoresponders.
  • List building strategies – your list is your asset.
